About
Organized in 1921 and federated in 1923, the Woman’s Club of Bellflower is the only club in its district that has a clubhouse. It is also the only clubhouse for any service organization in Bellflower that has been owned and operated continuously as a service club for over 85 years. Because of this clubhouse the club continues to flourish with increased membership due in part to the Tuesday friends’ group that sews, has luncheons, and plays dominoes while also increasing volunteer opportunities and visibility in the community through the various projects the club members embrace. The clubhouse is also home to several community non-profits which has increased membership and visibility as well. The city of Bellflower is six square miles with nearly 80,000 residents but continues to maintain a “Mayberry” tight knit community. The Woman’s Club of Bellflower and the Bellflower Chamber of Commerce worked closely together in the first 50 years prior to the incorporation of the city in 1957 and continues to maintain that relationship today. We are blessed to be in this community and work hard to be a blessing to the community.
